Ingredients

- 8–10 slices of soft white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
- 8–10 slices of your favorite melting cheese (e.g. cheddar, American, or Monterey Jack)
- 4–5 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter (or melted)
- Optional seasonings (e.g. garlic powder, paprika, or dried Italian herbs)
Instructions
- Flatten the bread using a rolling pin until about 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick.
- Add one slice of cheese at one edge of the flattened bread with a 1/4 inch border.
- Spread softened butter on the surface of the bread.
- Roll the bread tightly around the cheese, ensuring the seam is on the bottom.
- Preheat skillet over medium heat and place roll-ups seam-side down to cook for 2-4 minutes until golden brown. Turn to cook all sides for a total of 5-8 minutes.
Notes
Serve immediately for the best experience. Use an airtight container for leftovers and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet to retain crispiness.
