Description

  • 810 slices of soft white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 810 slices of your favorite melting cheese (e.g. cheddar, American, or Monterey Jack)
  • 45 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter (or melted)
  • Optional seasonings (e.g. garlic powder, paprika, or dried Italian herbs)

Instructions

  1. Flatten the bread using a rolling pin until about 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Add one slice of cheese at one edge of the flattened bread with a 1/4 inch border.
  3. Spread softened butter on the surface of the bread.
  4. Roll the bread tightly around the cheese, ensuring the seam is on the bottom.
  5. Preheat skillet over medium heat and place roll-ups seam-side down to cook for 2-4 minutes until golden brown. Turn to cook all sides for a total of 5-8 minutes.

Notes

Serve immediately for the best experience. Use an airtight container for leftovers and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet to retain crispiness.
