Description
A fusion of cheesy comfort and savory goodness, the grilled cheese burrito combines classic grilled cheese with a hearty burrito, offering a delightful dish for cozy dinners or game day snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1/4 cup chipotle sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 4 large flour tortillas
- Butter or oil for grilling
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess grease, then add taco seasoning and a splash of water. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until warm and flexible.
- Lay one tortilla flat and layer with cooked rice, seasoned beef, nacho cheese, chipotle sauce, and a dollop of sour cream. Top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella.
- In a clean skillet, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese. Place the burrito seam-side down and grill until the cheese melts and forms a crispy crust (about 3-4 minutes). Flip and repeat.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef, or use vegan cheese for a plant-based version. Pair with tortilla chips and salsa for a delightful crunch!
