  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans: In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the bacon until crispy and remove from the skillet, leaving some grease behind.
  4. Sauté the mushrooms in the same skillet until they are soft.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the cooked green beans, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, milk, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with crispy fried onions.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Serve warm.
