- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch the green beans: In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the bacon until crispy and remove from the skillet, leaving some grease behind.
- Sauté the mushrooms in the same skillet until they are soft.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked green beans, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, milk, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with crispy fried onions.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Serve warm.

For a quicker prep, consider using frozen green beans or pre-sliced mushrooms.
