Description
A delightful combination of rich, fudgy brownies and classic cookies with a chewy center and crispy edges.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream the two sugars with the unsalted butter until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they’re well combined before adding the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into your wet mixture until just combined—don’t over mix!
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
- Using rounded tablespoons, drop the cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges feel set.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks for complete cooling.
Notes
Consider substituting unsweetened applesauce for the butter for a lighter option. These cookies are delicious on their own or served warm with vanilla ice cream.
