Galaxy Mirror Glaze Cake

  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A beautifully layered dessert with a shiny, reflective glaze reminiscent of the night sky, combining rich dark chocolate and a creamy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 100 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 sheets of gelatin
  • Food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Grease a 23 cm round cake pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a water bath, stirring until smooth.
  3. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until thoroughly combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick – it should come out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water, then dissolve them in a small pot with 2-3 tablespoons of water over low heat.
  7. Combine the melted chocolate with the dissolved gelatin and add your choice of food coloring. Mix well.
  8. Once the cake has cooled, place it on a wire rack and pour the glaze evenly over the top. Allow it to set.

Notes

Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Refrigerate for longer storage, but allow it to come to room temperature before serving again.
