Delicious bat-shaped waffles that are soft, fluffy, and perfect for Halloween gatherings!
Ingredients

- 1½ cups all-purpose flour (180g)
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (25g)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (25g)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1¼ cups milk (300ml)
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (60g)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: black gel food coloring
- Toppings: whipped cream, sliced strawberries, mini chocolate chips, powdered sugar, candy eyes, maple syrup, Nutella or chocolate spread
Instructions
- Heat waffle iron or bat-shaped mold and grease lightly.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Add black gel food coloring if desired.
- Pour wet into dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
- Pour batter into mold/iron and cook for 3–5 minutes until firm and crisp.
- If not using a mold, cut cooled waffles with a bat-shaped cookie cutter.
- Serve warm with toppings like whipped cream and candy eyes.
