- 1 lb fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Rinse and trim the green beans, cutting off the ends.
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, then remove and cool before crumbling.
- In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the green beans and water to the skillet, cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes until the beans are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir in crumbled bacon before serving.
Notes
Consider substituting with turkey bacon for a lighter version or adding crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
