Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a few times to bring it together.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1-inch and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Serve them warm to enjoy their fluffy goodness.
Notes
For a lighter texture, use cold butter and avoid overmixing. You can substitute buttermilk for a tangy flavor.
