- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 2 to 3 tsp kosher salt
- 4 cups all-purpose or bread flour
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 to 2 tsp whole rosemary leaves (optional)
- Butter for greasing
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the lukewarm water and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add 2 tsp of kosher salt and the olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir well.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a sticky dough forms. You might not need to use all the flour.
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Grease a baking sheet with butter. Transfer the dough and stretch it out to fit the pan.
- Dimple the dough gently with your fingertips and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and rosemary.
- Let it rise again for 20–30 minutes while preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Experiment with different toppings for unique flavors.
