Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 to 3 tsp kosher salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose or bread flour
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 to 2 tsp whole rosemary leaves (optional)
  • Butter for greasing
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the lukewarm water and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add 2 tsp of kosher salt and the olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir well.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a sticky dough forms. You might not need to use all the flour.
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Grease a baking sheet with butter. Transfer the dough and stretch it out to fit the pan.
  6. Dimple the dough gently with your fingertips and sprinkle with flaky sea salt and rosemary.
  7. Let it rise again for 20–30 minutes while preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Experiment with different toppings for unique flavors.
