Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Lo Mein Noodles (cooked)
  • 1 lb Chicken breast (thinly sliced, optional)
  • 1 large Carrot (julienned)
  • 2 cups Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 Bell pepper (sliced, any color)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water or broth

Instructions

  1. Cook your noodles: Start by boiling the Lo Mein noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water or broth. Set aside.
  3. Stir-fry the chicken (if using): In a large skillet or wok, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Sauté the veggies: In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, carrots, cabbage, and bell pepper. Stir-fry until veggies are slightly tender.
  5. Combine: Add the cooked noodles and chicken back to the pan with the vegetables. Pour over the sauce and toss everything until well-coated and heated through.
  6. Serve hot: Enjoy your homemade Lo Mein straight from the pan!
