Description
A crispy crust and soft interior bread infused with garlic and rosemary, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/2 teaspoons quick yeast (1 package)
- 1 1/3 cups warm water
- 2 large rosemary sprigs, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, diced
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, yeast, water, garlic, and rosemary. Stir until they form a sticky and shaggy dough.
- Cover the bowl with a towel, then let it rise in a warm environment for about 60 minutes until it doubles in size.
- Prepare a piece of parchment paper by dusting it with flour. Gently transfer the risen dough onto it and shape it into a ball by folding the edges over.
- Flip the dough so the smooth side is up, cover with a towel, and let it rise for another 20 minutes while your Dutch oven heats.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and place the Dutch oven inside (without the lid) to warm up.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven using mitts and transfer the dough (on the parchment paper) into it. Score the top of the dough with a knife to allow steam to escape.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
- Once finished, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve it with soups, salads, or pasta. Great for sandwiches or toast. Enhance with garlic butter or sea salt before serving.
