- Honey or Maple Syrup: 4 tablespoons
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Soy Sauce: 3 tablespoons
- Cornstarch: 1/2 cup
- Sesame Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Green Onions: 2, chopped
- Sesame Seeds: 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil: For frying (about 1 cup)
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15-20 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into uniform bite-sized cubes for even cooking.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
- Roll each tofu cube in cornstarch, ensuring an even coat.
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Fry the tofu cubes until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Use a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil from the fried tofu.
- In the same skillet, pour in the honey garlic sauce and let it simmer for about a minute.
- Gently add the crispy tofu to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
