Description
A delightful twist on traditional tacos with crispy wonton shells filled with tender marinated chicken and crunchy coleslaw.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil, divided
- 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cups coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp honey
- 12 wonton wrappers
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with teriyaki sauce, half the sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Cook the chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked through.
- Prepare the slaw: In a separate bowl, mix the coleslaw, sliced green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and the remaining sesame oil. Toss to combine.
- Fry the wonton wrappers: In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the wonton wrappers for 20-30 seconds on each side until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Assemble tacos: Fill each crispy wonton with a spoonful of chicken and top with the coleslaw mixture. Drizzle sweet chili sauce over the top.
- Garnish: Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.
