Description
Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries are a delightful snack that transforms fluffy apple wedges into crunchy, golden bites. Perfect for any occasion and quick to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Apples: Peel (if preferred) and slice your apples into wedges about 1/2 inch thick, removing any seeds.
- Setup the Breading Station: Gather three bowls—one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for panko breadcrumbs. Mix half the cinnamon-sugar into the breadcrumbs.
- Coat the Apple Slices: Dredge each apple wedge in flour, dip into the eggs, then press into the breadcrumb mixture.
- Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the coated apple slices in a single layer, lightly spray with cooking spray, and air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Serve: Once golden brown and crispy, sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar over the apple fries and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
Notes
Experiment with different apple varieties for unique flavors. For healthier options, serve with yogurt instead of caramel sauce.
