Creamy Steak Pasta

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A comforting and indulgent creamy steak pasta dish infused with garlic and parmesan, perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fettuccine or penne pasta
  • 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Additional grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of salted water, boil your pasta according to the package instructions. Drain well and reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water.
  2. Season the sliced steak generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak pieces until browned, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until aromatic.
  5. Deglaze the skillet by pouring in beef broth, scraping any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the grated parmesan cheese. Keep stirring regularly and let the sauce simmer for 3–4 minutes until it thickens. If you like a little heat, add the crushed red pepper flakes.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  8. Finally, return the cooked steak to the skillet and gently mix.
  9. Serve immediately, topped with freshly chopped parsley and extra grated parmesan if desired.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. Top with sautéed mushrooms or fresh greens for creative variations.
