- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
Instructions
- In a pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic, ginger, and slit green chilies, then cook for about a minute until fragrant.
- Introduce the chicken pieces, cooking them until they’re no longer pink.
- Mix in the turmeric, cumin, and salt, ensuring that the chicken is well-coated.
- Add the yogurt and stir well, cooking for a few more minutes to meld the flavors.
- Pour in the heavy cream and let the curry simmer until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce thickens.
- Finally, sprinkle with garam masala and cook for another minute.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the yogurt with coconut cream for a dairy-free version or add vegetables like bell peppers for extra color and nutrition.
