Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Cook the Penne: Boil water and cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving one cup of pasta water.
- Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sauté for about 5 minutes until fragrant.
- Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Brown for about 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Make the Sauce: Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add reserved pasta water for desired consistency. Mix in grated Parmesan until melted.
- Combine and Serve: Toss the cooked penne in the skillet with the creamy sauce, ensuring every piece is coated.
- Serve Warm: Dish out hot and garnish with extra Parmesan or parsley if desired.
