Description
A sensational take on the classic green bean casserole, featuring sweet-savory sauce and crispy bacon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 5 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
- 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
- 2/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cooled.
- In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
- In the greased baking dish, place the drained green beans. Pour the sauce evenly over the beans and toss to coat.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a crunchier topping, consider adding fried onions before baking. Substitute half of the butter with olive oil for a healthier alternative.
