Description

A delightful and decadent side dish that elevates canned green beans with crispy bacon, a sweet and savory sauce, baked until bubbly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and crumble into pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. In the prepared baking dish, place the drained green beans and pour the sauce mixture evenly over them, tossing to coat.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute turkey bacon or omit bacon for a vegetarian version. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
