Crab Rangoon Bombs

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Seafood

Description

Crispy bite-sized treats that capture the essence of traditional crab rangoon with lump crab meat and cream cheese filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place about one tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water to seal.
  3. Fold the wrapper over diagonally to form a triangle, pressing to seal tightly.
  4. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the bombs in batches, about 3-4 at a time, until golden brown and crispy—around 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Notes

Serve with a tangy sweet and sour dipping sauce or homemade chili garlic sauce. Store in an airtight container for up to three days, or freeze un-fried bombs for up to a month.
