Description

A hearty, mouthwatering dish combining barbecue sauce, melted cheddar, and crunchy bacon over tender chicken breasts, perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. In the same skillet, sear the chicken over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken and top with shredded cheese and crumbled bacon.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions and optional red pepper flakes.
  8. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute turkey bacon and consider using reduced-fat cheese.
