- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup cottage cheese (low-fat or full-fat)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- In a hot skillet, cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and slice.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom.
- Layer the sliced chicken over the sauce, then spoon cottage cheese on top.
- Add remaining marinara sauce, covering the cottage cheese.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
