Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (low-fat or full-fat)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. In a hot skillet, cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and slice.
  4. In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom.
  5. Layer the sliced chicken over the sauce, then spoon cottage cheese on top.
  6. Add remaining marinara sauce, covering the cottage cheese.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
