- 1 lb boneless chicken, cubed
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in yogurt combined with garam masala, cumin, coriander, and salt for at least an hour.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until the chicken is no longer pink, around 7-10 minutes.
- Pour in the pureed tomatoes and let everything simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, swap heavy cream for coconut milk. You can also use paneer or chickpeas for a vegetarian version.
