Description

A flavorful dish featuring tender chicken marinated in spices, simmered in a rich tomato cream sauce for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken, cubed
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt combined with garam masala, cumin, coriander, and salt for at least an hour.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until the chicken is no longer pink, around 7-10 minutes.
  5. Pour in the pureed tomatoes and let everything simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, swap heavy cream for coconut milk. You can also use paneer or chickpeas for a vegetarian version.
