Description

A comforting dish of baked mostaccioli with ground beef and a rich, cheesy topping that warms hearts and satisfies appetites.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound mostaccioli pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the mostaccioli pasta following the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until they’re softened and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Stir in the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce mixture until well coated.
  7. Transfer half the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  8. Layer the remaining pasta mixture on top and finish with the rest of the cheeses.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

Pairs well with a fresh side salad or garlic bread. For added brightness, top with fresh basil or parsley.
