Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar (plus extra for coating)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 cup sugar until well-combined.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined—don’t overmix!
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut it into small bites (about 1-inch squares).
  6. Place the biscuit bites on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar with the ground cinnamon.
  8. Once the biscuit bites are done, brush them with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat fully.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for a week. For longer storage, freeze and reheat in the oven.
