- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups boiling water
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, fresh berries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well blended.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Carefully pour the boiling water over the batter—not mixing it in.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is set but the inner layer is still molten.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to two days or in the fridge for up to five days.
