Description

A quick and savory stir-fry combining ground beef, cabbage, and shiitake mushrooms, perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups cabbage, chopped (green or Napa)
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced (or button mushrooms)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  3. Introduce the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  4. Stir in the shiitake mushrooms and cook until tender.
  5. Add chopped cabbage and stir-fry for a few minutes until it wilts.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, mixing everything well.
  7. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
  8. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

Serve over steamed jasmine rice or cauliflower rice. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
