  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Pita bread, for serving
  • Sliced vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions), for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and olive oil to form a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs into the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or, even better, overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the marinated chicken on the grill and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred. Once done, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  4. For the garlic sauce, mix yogurt, mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until smooth and well combined.
  5. Serve the sliced chicken inside pita bread, accompanied by a generous drizzle of garlic sauce and a mix of fresh vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions.
