Ingredients

- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Mix in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan and brown them for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes along with the garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt.
- Cook until the tomatoes become soft and the chicken is well-coated with the spices.
- Cover the pan and let it simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
Serve with basmati rice or naan. For a refreshing contrast, add cucumber raita.
