  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and fragrant.
  3. Introduce the ground beef to the skillet, cooking it until browned. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Top it with the cooked beef mixture and half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining potatoes on top.
  6. Carefully pour the beef broth over the entire casserole and cover it tightly with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbling.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
