Description

This one-pot Cajun sausage pasta combines spicy sausage and a creamy sauce for a comforting meal ready in just 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pasta (penne or your choice)
  • 1 pound of Cajun sausage (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or a mix)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and cook for an additional minute to release the aromas.
  4. Add the pasta along with 2 cups of water, and bring it to a boil.
  5. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer until the pasta is cooked (about 10-12 minutes).
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Try using different sausages or adding extra vegetables for a twist. This dish is also great for meal prep!
