Description
A spirited twist on the classic American dish featuring juicy ground chicken with flavorful Cajun spices and fresh veggies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce and pickles (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Toss in the minced garlic, and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Next, stir in the ground chicken, cooking until browned, breaking the meat apart as it cooks.
- Once the chicken is browned, add in the diced tomatoes, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, letting all those flavors meld together beautifully.
- Serve the Cajun chicken mixture on hamburger buns, topped with lettuce and pickles if desired.
Notes
Consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat. For creaminess, stir in cream cheese or sour cream at the end.
