  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delightful twist on a classic appetizer that combines creamy cheese, fresh tomatoes, and fragrant basil for a crowd-pleasing dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 6.5 oz Alouette cheese with herbs (or any other soft cheese spread like Boursin)
  • ½ cup tomatoes, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinaigrette glaze or reduction
  • Pita chips, crackers, or thinly sliced baguette for serving

Instructions

  1. Spread the soft cheese evenly over the center of a large plate or small platter, leaving about a 1/4 inch around the edge clean.
  2. Evenly sprinkle and spread the chopped tomatoes over the cheese, followed by the fresh basil.
  3. Drizzle the balsamic glaze back and forth over the entire plate.
  4. Serve with pita chips, crackers, or spread on lightly toasted baguette slices.

Notes

For an extra kick, try adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes before serving. Let it sit for 15 minutes after assembling to enhance flavors.
