Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Little Smokies (mini smoked sausages)
  • 1 package regular-cut bacon (cut in half)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  3. Cut each slice of bacon in half.
  4. Wrap a half slice of bacon around each Little Smokie and secure with a toothpick.
  5. In a zip-top bag, combine the wrapped smokies with brown sugar and shake to coat.
  6. Arrange the smokies on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle leftover brown sugar on top and add a dash of black pepper.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the brown sugar caramelized.
  9. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes, keeping a close watch.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, try turkey bacon. For added flavor, consider using smoked paprika or garlic powder. They can be prepared a day in advance and stored in the fridge until baking.
