Ingredients

  • 1 package regular-cut bacon (cut in half)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Cut each bacon strip in half.
  3. Wrap each Little Smokie with a half-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Place brown sugar in a zip-top bag, add the wrapped smokies, and shake to coat.
  5. Lay the coated smokies on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar over the top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the sugar has caramelized.
  8. Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness, watching closely to prevent burning.
  9. Let them cool slightly before serving.
