Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine applesauce, sugar, and vegetable oil.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
