- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Cook for 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Combine 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water to make a slurry; stir into apple mixture and cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened. Set aside to cool.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate and flatten each biscuit to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place a tablespoon of cooled apple filling in the center of each biscuit. Fold edges over filling, sealing well.
- Dip each ball in melted butter, then roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
- Arrange seam-side down on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Can add nuts to the filling or experiment with different fruits or spices.
