- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup chopped mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into patties, making sure they are evenly sized.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the patties on both sides.
- Once browned, transfer the patties to a baking dish.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped mushrooms and cook until softened.
- Pour the beef broth over the patties in the baking dish, then top with the cooked mushrooms.
- Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked.
- Serve over a generous bed of mashed potatoes.
Notes
For extra flavor, mix in fresh herbs or add cheese on top before baking. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days.
