Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for sprinkling)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples gently, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle half over the batter in the pan.
  8. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  9. Using a knife or skewer, swirl through the batter to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  11. While cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread, slice, and enjoy!
