Description
A delightful twist on traditional apple desserts, combining the comforting sweetness of baked apples with the satisfying crunch of fries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Peel the apples if preferred and cut them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Set Up Coating Stations: In Bowl 1, add the flour. In Bowl 2, whisk together the egg and milk. In Bowl 3, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Coat the Apple Sticks: Dredge each apple stick in the flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place them in the basket of the air fryer in a single layer.
- Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.
Notes
For an extra touch, serve with caramel sauce or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. They pair well with vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt.
