Description

A delightful twist on traditional apple desserts, combining the comforting sweetness of baked apples with the satisfying crunch of fries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples if preferred and cut them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  2. Set Up Coating Stations: In Bowl 1, add the flour. In Bowl 2, whisk together the egg and milk. In Bowl 3, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Coat the Apple Sticks: Dredge each apple stick in the flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place them in the basket of the air fryer in a single layer.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve with caramel sauce or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. They pair well with vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt.
