Description
A quick and comforting ground beef stroganoff dish that comes together in just 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 ounces egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1¼ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup sour cream
Instructions
- Boil a pot of water and cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Once tender, set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 6-8 minutes until no pink remains. Drain excess fat and transfer to a plate.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and whisk in the flour for about 2 minutes until a roux forms.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until thickened.
- Slowly add the milk, stirring over medium heat until the sauce thickens again, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt, mixing thoroughly.
- Lower the heat and add the cooked noodles and browned beef to the skillet, stirring until heated through.
- Incorporate the sour cream into the sauce and serve hot.
